We offer over fifty glass and ceramic materials in various colours. The materials are split into different categories.

Research & Development

We have recently developed a range of unique low temperature lead free glasses, new binder systems and micro-presses for the production of high precision micro preforms. We are also a member of Lucideon Research UK and Reach Ready. We work as R&D partners with many well known International companies such as Corning, Schott and Ferro. We also regularly work with University Students on PHD projects and can offer assistance and use of our equipment if required. In 2019 we will work as a partner on a major UK Government Grant for the Photonics Industry.

Mansol Preforms Ltd is committed to improving and widening our range of products and services thus is continually investing in new technologies and machinery.
Longer-term projects are undertaken with R & D consultancy company, STC Optronics, with whom we have have already successfully completed two EEDA funded research projects. The first, investigating new methods of lamp sealing for the lighting industry, and the second developing glass pastes for printing and dispensing which has lead to the development of a production process for automated legend printing on connector preforms.

Several new joint development projects are planned for the future including looking at low temperature lead free glasses, new binder systems, and micro-presses for the production of high precision micro preforms. Mansol Preforms Ltd is also a member of Lucideon research.
