Sichuan Skyhorse has commissioned Horn to build a furnace for its new container glass plant in Shehong, China.
The manufacturer selected Horn for the engineering, delivery, installation and start-up of the production plant.
The end fired glass melting furnace will have a capacity of 170 tpd.
It is scheduled to be commissioned in the third quarter of 2025.
The furnace is designed with six forehearths, and will be heated using natural gas.
Horn will apply low-CO2 glass melting technology to enable the furnace to have a melting area of 101 m² to produce super flint glass.
Horn’s scope of supply includes the engineering of the refractory and steel structure, the combustion system, measuring and control equipment, and a Horn HVR 400F batch charger.
Horn, together with its subsidiary Horn Glass Technology Beijing, will also supervise the installation, heat-up and commissioning of the furnace.
