Ritec Clearshield® Awarded Singapore ‘Green Mark’

, Ritec

The Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC) recently awarded a Green Building Product Certificate or ‘Green Mark’ to Ritec International Limited for ClearShield® durable, “non-stick” glass surface protection.

The SGBC’s Green Mark Scheme covers the assessment and certification of green building products in Singapore.  This Scheme is recognised internationally, however, because of Singapore’s reputation as a leader in environmental standards, sustainability, and clean energy technologies.  Also the Scheme incorporates internationally recognised best practices in environmental design and performance.

To qualify for the prestigious ‘Green Mark’, Ritec ClearShield® formulations were assessed on their environmental properties and performance through a comprehensive list of criteria covering five key areas:

  • Energy efficiency
  • Water efficiency
  • Resource Efficiency
  • Health & Environmental Protection
  • Other ‘Green’ features.

Martin Burkett, Ritec’s Production and Quality Assurance Manager, project-managed the application process and is delighted with the outcome.  Martin commented: “Achieving Green Product Certification highlights savings in routine building maintenance, environmental advantages and numerous other benefits that can be achieved by using the durable, “non-stick”, easy-clean protection of Ritec ClearShield®”.
