Im Auftrag von Gerresheimer hat der Glasschmelztechnik-Spezialist HORN eine der beiden Schmelzwannen auf neueste CO2-arme Glasschmelztechnik innerhalb von knapp vier Monaten ab Januar 2025 umgebaut. Die neue, hochmoderne Oxy-Hybrid-Schmelzwanne für das Werk in Lohr am Main wird zukünftig Behälterglas deutlich nachhaltiger produzieren und erhöht den Anteil von High-Value Produkten am Standort weiter. Die neue Schmelzwanne ist mit der bewährten HORN-Oxyfuel-Technologie in Verbindung mit dem hauseigenen e-Fusion Power Boosting als Hybrid-Technik ausgestattet.
Der Austausch der Schmelzwanne für Weißglas gegen eine hochmoderne Oxy-Hybrid-Schmelzwanne senkt die CO2e-Emissionen im Vergleich zu einer Schmelzwanne mit konventioneller Technologie um bis zu 40% und verfügt über neueste Produktionstechnologien mit umweltfreundlicher Kühlung. Die neue Wanne verfügt über eine höhere Kapazität und kann mit einem Stromanteil von bis zu 50 % betrieben werden.
